Delivery Information

As a family run business, making sure you get value for money is as important to us as the quality of the products we offer.

By doing away with expensive, bricks & mortar stores and warehouses, we connect you directly to our talented artisans, makers, and manufacturers. This means we can bring you our fantastic selection of unique furniture and homewares, direct from the manufacturers, at affordable prices.

This also means that dispatch and delivery times vary from product to product, depending on that particular maker's location, stock level and workflow. Many small artisans will make to order, or in small batches, so depending on where in that product's lifecycle we are at any given time, delivery times may be shorter or longer.

Whilst many products on our site are available for delivery in as little as 3-7 days, some may take a few weeks. But trust us, they are worth the wait!

When To Expect Delivery

To make things as clear and simple as possible you will see an expected delivery time on every product page.

We truly believe that shopping online should be as simple and easy as possible, but most importantly it should be transparent and honest.

Our expected delivery times are not based on some 'fastest possible time' or 'best case scenario', we think there is nothing worse than over-promising, and under-delivering! The web is full of those tactics, and it's no good for you, or us.

We believe the opposite, and would much rather under-promise, and over-deliver. So all of our expected delivery times are based on what we are seeing are the real-world delivery times on that particular product.

We err on the side of caution and give you an idea of the latest we think your item will arrive. If a particular maker is telling us they expect delivery in 3-7 days, we'll tell you that it will be with you within 10 days.

Delivery Costs

Zero, zilch, zip, nil, nought, nothing...

We offer Free UK delivery on all orders regardless of size. Order a coaster, free delivery. Order a sofa, yep, free delivery.

It really couldn't be any simpler.

Ok, so there are a few geographical exceptions and restrictions on this. We do have to charge a little extra for the likes of the Highlands, Islands and NI. You can view a full list of postcodes where charges and restrictions apply here.

Again though, we make any charges as clear and transparent as possible so as not to waste your time.

On our shopping basket page, there is a button to 'Estimate Delivery'. If your postcode falls into one of the areas listed above simply press this button and enter your postcode to see what the delivery cost will be.

International Delivery

Whilst we can't offer international delivery on all of our products, many items are available for shipping within Europe and World Wide. Again, simply press the 'Estimate Delivery' button on the basket page and enter your country and postcode to see the cost.

International orders are also not subject to VAT, so whilst this may still show on the basket page, once you enter your full delivery address during checkout the VAT will be deducted, reducing the cost of your order.


If an item is out of stock, or in production with a maker and lead times are outside of normal, then we will mark it as so on the product page.

If we have been provided with an expected 'in stock' date from that maker we will accept 'pre-orders' and advise when we expect the items to be ready to ship.

This is particularly useful on the more popular items, where all stock from a batch may potentially be sold during production. By placing a pre-order you will secure your item and it will be shipped as soon as production is complete.

If we have not been provided with an expected 'in stock' date, then we do not feel it is right to take pre-orders for items we have no idea of when we can deliver.

If this is the case then the item will not be available to purchase, but you may sign up for a 'Back in Stock' notification and we will email you when the item is available again.


We want you to be 100% satisfied with your Barley Interiors order.

If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with a purchase, please let us know as soon as possible.

Damaged Or Defective Goods

Whilst our artisans and makers take every precaution to ensure your items arrive in tip-top condition, sometimes the unexpected happens.

Please check all deliveries as soon as they arrive. In the unlikely event that you receive damaged or defective goods, we will work with you to rectify the problem as quickly as possible.

For us to deal with your return quickly and efficiently please notify us within 48 hours of receiving your order, either by emailing hello@barley or visiting the contact us page of our website.

Many of our products are hand-crafted individually by our talented artisans, makers, and manufacturers, from solid wood and other natural materials, hence there may be some variation in size, colour, finish, texture, natural grain pattern, knots, and movement of timber, etc.

This is an integral part of the beauty and charm of hand made, small-batch products and we recommend that you have made yourself fully aware of the nature of our hand-made solid wood products to avoid any disenchantment at a later stage. We regret we will not treat any of the above variations as defects, as these are natural occurrences.

Changed your mind?

We know what it's like, sometimes you find that perfect piece online, but when it arrives it's just doesn't quite work in your space, or you've changed your mind completely.

We want you to shop with complete peace of mind with us, and whilst we make every effort to ensure we provide as much information and imagery as possible for all of our products. There is no substitute for actually seeing and feeling an item in your home, surrounded by your own furniture and lighting etc.

So if for any reason you wish to cancel your order once it has arrived, you can do so within 14 days of taking delivery. Simply let us know in writing by emailing hello@barley or visiting the contact us of our website.

All items must be in there original packaging and in 'as new' condition. You are also responsible for the cost and risk of returning the goods to us so we would advise using a tracked and insured service to return goods. We can help you with this when you contact us and are even happy to arrange the collection on your behalf, then deduct the cost from any refund if you would prefer.

Unfortunately, any bespoke orders or items that have been personalised for you are unable to be returned under your right to cancel.
